Bonjour Gateway

Aerohive’s Bonjour Gateway is design to vastly simplify the support of Apple compatible devices in the enterprise. Of all the solutions available for supporting Bonjour, only the Virtual Bonjour Gateway offers innovative multi-vendor integration, enterprise class control features, and the simplicity of running on a standard VMWare environment.

The Bonjour Gateway enables management and control of Apple’s “Zero-Configuration Networking” technology, called Bonjour®, to advertise services such as AirPrint™ and AirPlay® across multisubnet networks. The software can be installed in up to two virtual machine instances to propagate services across different network locations.

A free cloud-based management account, HiveManager for Bonjour Gateway, is included, with simplified web interfaces that help administrators configure the services available, filter unwanted services, limit unnecessary traffic and monitor usage.

Cloud VPN Gateway

The Aerohive Cloud VPN Gateway (CVG) is designed to integrate into virtualized environments and simplify complex VPN deployments.

A lightweight, software-based solution that runs on VMware-compliant equipment, the gateway is designed to simplify VPN termination for thousands of remote branches. The CVG can be installed in under 10 minutes and becomes the core of a branch network that terminates thousands of VPN tunnels from remote access locations. These unique characteristics, combined with HiveOS intelligence, create breakthrough ease of provisioning and management for branch offices. The gateway is also license-free, which has made Aerohive the networking vendor of choice for thousands of organizations around the world.

HiveManager Network Management

HiveManager is an out-of-band Network Management System (NMS) for simple policy configuration, firmware upgrades, and monitoring of up to thousands of Aerohive 802.11n access points, switches, and routers. A revolutionary new user-interface makes it easy and intuitive to create and deploy unified LAN and WLAN policies across your entire network.

HiveManager offers real-time topology, performance, and client information to simplify troubleshooting, capacity planning and security remediation of networks application. HiveManager also enables access policies based on identity, application, and device type. Because it is not essential to the flow of traffic, losing connectivity to HiveManager will not affect any control or data forwarding features of your Aerohive devices.

Simple
HiveManager greatly simplifies deployment. There is no pre-staging or configuration necessary to connect Aerohive devices in any location to their HiveManager, which makes it ideal for distributed deployments. HiveManager enables administrators to establish a configuration once, via the central HiveManager instance. This configuration is automatically provided to the Aerohive AP access point, switch, or router when the device is initially plugged in and connected to HiveManager. This functionality makes managing thousands of devices as easy as managing a single device.

Flexible
There are several options for deploying HiveManager:

• Deploy HiveManager as a 1U rack-mountable appliance
• Deploy a VMware virtual instance
• Deploy a Software-as-a-Service offering in the Cloud -

Scalable
All of the HiveManager platforms support two modes: Express Mode, which is a simplified version of the interface designed to make initial deployment and training simple and quick; and, Enterprise Mode, which includes an extensive object-based management system and full feature support. Customers can easily migrate an Express Mode deployment to Enterprise Mode at any point when additional features or flexibility are required.

HiveOS Network Operating System

All Aerohive devices support the feature-rich HiveOS Cooperative Control architecture. HiveOS enables Aerohive devices to organise into groups, or “hives,” which allows functionality like fast roaming, user-based access control and fully stateful firewall policies, as well as additional security and RF networking features - all without the need for a centralised or dedicated controller.
